10 Things You Should Know Before You Build a Web Site!

1. You can't please everybody so be prepared for rejection or negative comments.

No matter how much content you place on your site there will always be someone who isn't satisfied with it. Either what you have is not enough or it doesn't explain what they are looking for.

(So have I just opened myself up for some negative comments about this list)

2. Past failures will help you achieve future successes

We learn from our failures. Or at least we should. So don't beat yourself up if you fail. It is simply a road map that shows us how to do it right the next time.

3. Have a plan with regular goals to reach and keep moving forward.

Always set your goals slightly ahead of your abilities. This way the carrot will always be in front of the cart and you will keep moving forward with your plan.

If you don't have a plan, even a simple one, then you can't tell where you have been, what you have accomplished or what needs to be done next.

4. Use promotion power by having an affiliate system in place.

If there is one rule to keep in mind the most it is this: 'You can't do it all yourself'. That is why we have affiliate plans, shared marketing and mentors.

Two heads have always been better than one! remember the phrase, 'United We Stand - Divided we fall!'

5. There is leverage and hence more sales in having your affiliates do all your selling for you!

The more people that are out promoting your product, service and site, the greater the sales will be. The multiplier effect works well in internet marketing.

6. First Impressions Can make Or Break A Sales Experience!

A customer decides within a minute of landing on your site if they will buy from you!

Layout, color, design and format all affect how a customer perceives your site.

A bad first impression will sour a customer immediately and reduce the chances of him buying from you regardless how good the product or service is that you offer!

7. It's Quality, not Quantity, that builds relationships, trust and sales

Garbage in, garbage out! Feed your list garbage and soon you won't have a list. Without a list you have no visitors and hence no sales.

8. Being constantly proactive will move your business forward.

Don't sit on your laurels! Not only do they get old and worn out but what you did yesterday doesn't guarantee today's sales in the ever changing world of internet marketing.

Keep an eye on your past successes but also keep an eye on your customer's needs. By fulfilling those needs you will build a successful business.

9. Control Your Business - Don't let your business control You!

If you can master this one point then you are headed to a successful business. By letting the business control you every day, you wind up being married to the business and doing nothing but business.

Remember your family! Your friends! Your Social life!

Time away from the business is needed so that you can recharge your energy level, your idea bank and your commitment levels.

10. Provide proof of your legitimacy - get testimonials!

Getting feedback, positive or negative, helps to create an atmosphere of reliability, trust, dependency and loyalty!

Feedback is the mechanism to make changes. To power forward. To build relationships. To become better.
