4 Simple Affiliate Marketing Tips
4 Simple Steps to Squeeze the Most from Your Affiliate Sales Campaigns What makes your affiliate product promotions unique from the dozens, hundreds ... or even thousands of other marketers who are selling the very same programs or products that you are selling? If cutting and pasting the adverts, sales letters and email messages that the program provided is your concept of promotion, or that adding all of the merchants banners to every page on your web site is advertising... do NOT quit your day job. To appeal to new customers, and to get the attention of your current customers, you're going to have to come up with a way to separate yourself from everyone else. You have got to STAND OUT from the crowd. And if you want to convert those potential customers into sales you're going to need to adjust and pre-sell your presentation to insure it meets the needs and wants of your potential customers. Following that, here are 4 Simple Steps to Squeeze the Most from Your Affiliate Sales Campaigns: 1) Become "The Expert" The more you know about the products you're promoting, the higher your credibility. Even if you don't own a particular product, learn everything you can about it. Study the vendors website and pick-up whatever info explains the product you are selling in a clear and concise manner that your customers will understand. If you do own the product, use it. Then write a review or an "Insider's How-To" that differs from the merchants manual. Become the source your customers and affiliates look to regarding the product. 2) 100% Fresh Advertising Copy In step 1 you became "The Expert." To maintain that title, and to solidify your credibility, use the text provided by a merchant for your information only. Write a great review of the product, create your own signature lines and email messages. Put together a case study using yourself as an example. You can even design your own banners and sales pages. Don't forget that this is about your credibility and making a connection with your customers. Using the content provided by the vendor just throws you in with every other affiliate. In order to establish a bond with your customers, build trust and make that connection the overall message and product information need to come from you. 3) Establish a Relationship with the Vendor Try to get anything and everything you can that no other affiliate even has access to. Anything that could give you an edge over the other affiliates or that can give you a marketing and promotional "head-start." If you can't get through to the merchant, try hooking up with the affiliate manager, or the manager of a different department. The idea here is to gain access to material or information that others don't have. Articles that you can brand, incentive offers, free trials, ebooks, even special pricing. Anything that, again, separates you from the pack. If there is something specific that you know will help your efforts-ask for it. The very worst that can happen is you'll be turned down. The best that can happen? The skies the limit. 4) Share the Knowledge, Reap the Rewards If you're in two-tier or multiple tier affiliate program, or if you have your own affiliates or even membership site, it is in your best interests to train them. It is vitally important that you make and take the time to share marketing and promotion information with them, pass on strategies and tips, and to help them build and develop their own online businesses. You can not afford to perceive them as a threat or as competition as their success directly benefits you. As they grow, so do you. As their business grows and prospers, so does yours. By incorporating these 4 techniques into your sales and marketing plan, you'll practically guarantee that your business will profit. And through implementing these methods into every new campaign, you'll insure continued growth and profit of your online business, and reap the rewards of your affiliate marketing success.
