5 Web Development Aspects That Will Help You Create a Successful Website

Designing and developing a website can be a very tedious and overwhelming experience especially for a person who is just starting out in web development and design.

There is nothing more frustrating than spending hours and hours developing and when it comes to putting your site online it fails because you have neglected to take into consideration the different aspects of web development.

When developing your website it is very important to keep these 5 tips in mind.

Navigation is one of the biggest and more important aspects of web development and design. People who arrive at websites where the buttons are hard to find, or they have to click 5 links before they get anywhere is very frustrating and they will end up just leaving.

Your website should be very easy and straight forward to navigate through.

If the goal of your website is going to be making money through ads then designing and developing your website that allows for advertisement placement is crucial.

The goal is to develop your site in a way that allows you to place ads in all of the "hot spots" of your web pages.

Not all web browsers display web pages the same. With one browser your website might look great and in another it may completely look like garbage.

In order to help minimize and even eliminate this problem it is very important that you put a valid doctype in your web pages. A doctype tells the browsers how to read and display your web pages.

If you are going to be using scripts like javascript, asp, perl, php or any other scripting languages you have to take into consideration that a percentage of online users have javascript blocked.

Another problem comes in when selecting a web host, they offer linux and windows hosting, each one only supporting certain scripting languages. Make sure that the web hosting package you are going to choose supports the scripts your site has.

These days content is king, search engines love content and if you have good unique quality content the search engines will love your site and give you more attention.

When developing your website make sure that your content has a good amount of keywords and phrases.

Most search engines place the most value on the first 100-150 words of your content and so placing a good amount of keywords and phrases in this area will help you with the search engines as well.
