A fun, almost free thing to do with kids in your own yard

We just discovered a product I've never seen before. After buying it for $4.99 at Target, bringing it home and opening it up and using it we were immediately having fun. What is it?

3D Sidewalk Chalk! It is made by Crayola. It consists of five pieces of large sidewalk chalk, each piece having two colors. The two colors are paired to create 3D effects. It comes with a pair of 3D glasses that makes the colors appear at different levels.

You can mix and match the colors within a sidewalk drawing. When viewed through the 3D glasses, the red seems to float about 4 inches off the sidewalk. The other colors float at different levels, with the blue appearing to be about 4 inches below the sidewalk level. I suspect there is nothing specific about these particular chalks, and that you will be able to see the same effects with other chalks, when these run out. Also, the glasses are not flimsy cardboard, they are reasonably well made so they will last for quite a while.

My children ages 5 and 7 found this to be a really fun diversion, and so did I! It would make a really good party favor also, since it is only $4.99.
