She spent two years as a diver researching coral reefs in the Red Sea & Indian Ocean on the RV Heraclitus, and for four years co-managed a 500 tree organic fruit orchard, in the high desert near Santa Fe, New Mexico.
In addition, 3t enjoys an extensive background in theater, and, as an artist, 3t is an accomplished painter, web & graphic designer, documentarian & photographer. 3T has shown various artworks works since 2000 at the October Gallery, London, UK, in several well-known Transvangard shows. She is currently exhibiting her “Eye On The Rainforest” Series in various venues in Puerto Rico, highlighting her work and learning in the rainforest.
Artist Statement: "The Eye on The Rainforest & Kinetochore 'Draw-Tings' are the latest in a body of work that are an experiment in visual acuity and the response of the brain-to-hands when the mind is cleared of clutter and chatter. The aim is to follow forms, exploiting the rapidity of the drawing process that is accessed in a state of intentional attention, or noesis, and the result can be seen as a universal download of patterns.
My medium of choice is paint for its fluidity as my foundation, and subsequent color pencil & pen-work allows my drawing hand to capture fine detail. In these series I decide to keep the paintwork flat so as not to be distracted by textures. A Draw-Ting is finished when there are no 'elbows sticking out'.
Having lived on the sea, as a diver studying coral reefs & the marine environment, and living & working in the rainforest of Puerto Rico, these latest pieces capture and examine the detail and beauty that the natural environment informs me of. I hope my work inspires further curiosity of all and everything that we can see, and all that we cannot see, and moreover, a profound respect for our biosphere."
