The Many Faces of Acura From sleek and sporty coupes to stylish SUVs Acura builds vehicles with the driver’s needs in mind.
An Impressive Past
After a decade of research and development Acura unveiled the first Japanese luxury car in 1986. As the new kid on the block they broke away from the competition and the very next year won Import Car of the Year for 1987 while their Integra made the “10 Best” list in the same year.
Never one to rest on their laurels, Acura released the popular NSX Sport Coupe in 1990 which Motor Trend named the “best sports car ever built.” This ground breaking vehicle was the first ever to have its body, chassis and suspension all created from aluminum and all only four years after the debut of their first vehicle.
Breaking the Mold
Acura recognized the popularity of the sports utility vehicle and answered that call with the MDX. The Acura MDX combined their Super Handling All Wheel Drive with a sporty V-6 and 300 hp engine. It won rave reviews from the critics not only for its power and handling but its commitment to safety as well. It earned a five-star safety rating, the highest available, for both its frontal and side safety and was named the 2008 safety pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.
Looking to the Future
To keep up with the demand of today's young, active buyers Acura is offering a SUV/crossover with the RDX. Loaded with incredible features such as a powerful turbo-four engine, a voice activated navigation system and GPS linked climate control this vehicle gives its drivers those extra luxuries they’ve come to expect in today’s quality SUVs.
With vehicles such as this you can only imagine what they’ll be coming out with a few years down the road.
