About 10 months ago, I published the following on Hubpages: "According to the personal experience of a former Ameriplan Representative's Rip-off Report, a group of self-employed contractors [who are in my close personal network], a dismissed broker of AmeriPlan and a Federal Reveiw, impresses me like the scandal of the AL Williams [A no name company, led by a high school football coach revolutionized the life insurance industry.] scandal in the 70s.

Ameriplan seems to be one of the most legit business on the market today. Feel free to watch the "complete" presentation and visit the corporate offices, I am certain you would see the same. AL Williams was a revolutionary company that helped many people. I met Hubert Humphrey personally and was impressed with his new company World Leadership Group, and his previous company of World Financial Group. Scammed is a VERY strong word to use on anyone or anything.

Yes, and so is AVON, the door-to-door sales associates are now in competition with MALL Stores and remember TUPPERWARE Parties? TUPPERWARE is now offered in discount chain stores like KMart, WalMart and so on.
I attended several of the recruiting meeting of AL Williams in Dublin, Georgia, nearing the end of my high school days and did not exactly understand anything outside of meetings, gathering personal information and winning trips. I am very proud of myself for NOT investing personal time to help the CORPORATION obtain personal information for its DATA BASE, especially after the fall-out that developed years later.
This Ameriplan operated on the same PREMIS - recruiting people to gather DATA for its INFORMATION MONSTER that baits members for healthcare that is not really health care but discounts that can be obtained "DIRECTLY from Health care Professionals" without ANY TYPE of CARD.
Example: An Amerplan member calls to obtain the number for labs, Y is it necessary for the member to disclose "the reason for the lab to a NON-MEDICAL person?

The group found an association linked to credit unions. If anyone is interested in "healthcare coverage" not a discount plan -- contact me via my website http://jazlive.com/contactus.aspx - couples' rate is less than $400/mo (pregnancies are not covered) and a single person is less than $200/mo (pregnancies are not covered). Prescription discounts is included. I am not a representative nor will I get a dime for the info. I will respond with the representative's name and phone number, He's a super nice guy!

I do and I learned all this by watching the presentation one time, I,m not even in Ameriplan.

Oh...and another thing. Did you actually take the time to read the so called WARNING? There are millions of members who are very satisfied with the product we offer. As far as people being able to get discounts without a card this is true but not as much will be discounted. Physicians make far more money when you pay out of pocket vs insurance because the prices are 500% over what they should be and that's whay insurance companies pay a doctor $70.00 instead of $350.00 for an office visit. This is WRONG!

I have read several pages and various websites about the Ameriplan scam tonight. First the Ameriplan company based in Plano, TX IS a legit company. Has the highest rate with the Dallas BBB. Has been featured on PBS in a very positive way. I could go on. Second, apparently there is an Ameriplan Financial company that appears to be a scam. This company is apparently the one offering some kind of credit card and discount card for $249. Ameriplan based in Plano NEVER had a time to get started with the company for $249. Third and final is if you are going to talk about a company, get the facts straight, get the correct name of the company and what it truely does. To find out what Ameriplan in Plano is all about visit their website and find out the true facts. And yes I am an IBO, an RSD in fact and your success with the real Ameriplan (or any company for that matter) is being truthful, ethical and applying yourself. I have met personally both Bloom brothers and several of the NVP's and I would trust them with NO reservations! Again, check for facts before saying anything about any company or anyone. Be Dream Achievers and builders, don't tear people down. tearing people down only tears you down.

Louis - that's right, come to the light. Until AmeriPlan is exposed like ENRON or AL Williams, the "inner circle" can keep serving "KOOL AID"

JazLive All I can say is I feel sorry for you if you can't tell the difference between AmeriPlan and Ameriplan Financial. If a few reps were mislead or did not read the agreement before signing the dotted line and felt cheated compared with the tens of thousands IBO's and the 100s of thousands members who are satisfied then you must be someone just lookng at the negative of everything and distrust everyone. I have been invited to who knows how many network marketing companies and the ONLY one I ever joined is AmeriPlanUSA, Plano, TX because of the caliber of Dennis and Daniel Bloom. Being checked out by PBS, Highest rating available by the Dallas BBB, not to mention the lawyers of all the Fortune 500 company's that AmeriPlanUSA works with. Do you know more than the lawyers? I am not very big in the company, currently only a RSD, but I have never lost any money with them, their checks have never bounced and I misplaced a check and did not realize it for about a year and a half and when I advised AmeriPlan they issued another check to me. Doesn't sound like a scam to me. Maybe you are upset with AmeriPlanUSA for some reason and have a Vendetta against them or you don't have your facts straight and think AmeriPlan USA and Ameriplan Financial with it's apparently bogus $2000 credit card is the same company when it is NOT.

I never bought into Ameriplan as a business or a benefit, but know a rep who created great income and then lost his home after getting involved in the business. What disturbs me most is Mark Jarvis leaving Ameriplan to start his own MLM under the name of Zurvita.Right now the push is a discount coupon service that can be gotten free if one searches on the internet, so why build an MLM around something that is free? There are also dead links to upcoming 'health benefits" and "legal benefits" programs... so I guess whether Ameriplan works or is a scam, he is thinking he will get a MUCH BIGGER piece of the pie going out on his own. Looks like with the legal benefits, he'll be competing with PrePaid Legal.I'm not really happy that Mr. Jarvis is promoting it the way he is. I don't believe in using "God" or any other entity of that nature as a 'marketing or recruiting tool." But that's just my opinion.

I read these comments and I must admit that it is a shame that us "work from home seekers" cant trust any work from home company because of all the SCAMS out there.
In November of 2006 I worked for AmeriplanUSA. They had a temporary Bonus where if you enroll something like 6 members and 4 brokers with in thirty days you'll get a $500 bonus. I had gotten the bonus in less than two weeks, plus the commission (residual) that I earned for enrolling the members and brokers.
It was a little overwhelming for me and I didnt know how to be a TRUE leader as majority of the people that I hired were older than me asking me how I got to Regional Sales Director (one step up from a broker). Plus, some brokers didnt have the commitment that I had so if they quit I would have to stay on top of my game and replace them.
Im now jobless after working retail in Manhattan. I just hate standing on my feet for seven hours making only 10.50 an hour! It's brutal.
I think to myself now: "How much money would I have in residual if I would have stuck with Ameriplan and not get discouraged when a member or broker I enrolled quit on me".
So with that said, Im going to re-enroll and start from scratch.
Within one month of me working at home I made about $600 by choosing the Advanced payment option with the company (they pay you 6 months in advanced for each member or broker) that was my first month(not including my bonus). I worked hard. That may not seem like a lot to money but that was a start. Its a shame I didnt go forth.
Its basically building a chain and when a link breaks (a broker or member) replace it so that you can continue making it longer (Building residual, making more money).
It's a hussle. Thats the truth, but Id rather hussle and build an income than work in retail and make crap.
To sum it up, if your not willing to stay on the phone and talk to people interested in working from home then dont work for Ameriplan. If you get easily discouraged, dont work for Ameriplan. If you dont truly believe in what your doing, dont work for Ameriplan. When I started, I was making good sales, than I got discouraged and stopped believing and I stopped making sales.
Its truly amazing how you operate your mind and goals when you believe in what you do.
Other than that, I hope this message helped. Simply compare this opportunity with all the other work from home jobs. I did, and thats why Im coming back.
If you think you found a better opportunity, let me know. I havent found not one other than this one.
-S

I published this HUB, initially to WARN about this SCAM to consumers. It is also working for some newbies seeking eCommerce ventures; who prefer not to offer scam programs just to make money, which will diminish their credibility in future earning opportunities.

I worked with Ameriplan and it can work. It is not a scam although they advertise like one. Be careful which site you send prospects too. Now, if you are going to work for Ameriplan, you can earn a decent living after a spell, however you will have to invest about $200. at least each month to do this. Those phone calls cost a lot of money. They training calls alone doubled my phone bill. You are charged $50. month to be an IBO. You also pay for the much needed business cards & postcards or brochures. Leads are expensive. Discount leads are expensive. You can write all of this off when you do your taxes, but for some people that's their rent, mortgage, gas, bus, train &/or grocery money. Ameriplan requires an investment of time and money. Like any other investment, you will need to count the cost before you get started. If you can hardly afford to pay your rent, you may want to hold off on this investment & try something that is actually free (except business cards). You can not be successful with Ameriplan if you do not do the training calls, call at least 50 leads per day ($1. per lead = $50. day), do some foot work & put those business cards, brochures and postcards out there. It's very risky to put this on a credit card with the hopes of making it all back by the time the card burns out. Also, consider what may happen if Obama becomes president & his healthcare plan passes. Many people will drop or not do Ameriplan & do his plan. Many workers will drop because they are losing members. I would say that if you really want to do Ameriplan and you have at least $200. extra per month, do it, work it hard & invest the money, so that when Obama becomes president & his plan passes and Ameriplan begins to sink, you will have gotten a good return on you tiime & money.

NOTE: On May 15, 2008, I noticed my hubpage score drop from the upper 80s to the lower 70s; IP addresses were showing from "Joel's first comment on to my last comment "three weeks ago". Today, I saw an AmeriPlan for dental advertisment; performed a Big Daddy Search with keywords: scam ameriplan dental and got several hits, including my published pages on Ameriplan. Today 10 May 2008; the "admin warning disappeared" - IP addresses are gone and found a new comment left several days ago - possibly my note to move the contents or my Google search keywords: moved Hubpage AmeriScam changed the admin's mind for deleting my published hub.

Excerpt from article The AmeriPlan Scam ? published by Corporate Narc
"The AmeriPlan scam takes place when a representative calls offering 2,500 dollar credit card for $249. This card can be used for medical expenses supposedly covered under AmeriPlan. The caller informs the potential client that they will receive the card in the mail before their bank account is debited. This is not the case.
If a customer asks for more information they are told they will not receive any information until they send their payment.
Often customers do not receive their card yet their accounts are debited the $249.
When the customer calls to find out about the charges they are told they can no longer get the $249 deal. Of course the customers' next move is to try to cancel their account with AmeriPlan. Customers are told they cannot cancel their account over the phone and that they will have to fill out a cancellation form via the internet.
It has been reported that this cancellation process does not work. Customers call back to AmeriPlan and are told to fill out the form online and that nothing else can be done, leaving the customer in a catch 22 situation.
AmeriPlan claims these cases are isolated and that they, "have never had any of these complaints." However, any internet search on The AmeriPlan Scam will yield an alarming number of consumer complaints."
