Basic tips for writing a promotional email: • Always draft the content accurately, spellcheck it, and have a human being proof read it. • Don’t address the intended recipient as if he or she is reading a post in your blog. • Address the recipient as if the two of you are having a one-to-one conversation. • If you intend using the autoresponder's ‘firstname’ field, don’t overuse it and only apply it where it makes sense. It is more natural to say, “Hey, Billy, go and check out this great new website”, rather than, “Billy, go and check out this great new website”. Good luck!
