Being Cynical

On 14th. April 2008 chabagg1 asked
"What is a Guru
I spend a lot of time with this internet marketing. I keep getting new emails from the "gurus". What makes you a guru?. It came to me that the majority of us that are trying to make money are just regular people that are trying to get ahead. I am not in a position to spend a lot of money to make money and not many of us are but if we could somehow get together we could be a force to be reckoned with. Imagine the millions of us that are out here putting our heads together with a common goal. My next mission is to figure out if this is even possible, and if it is, how do I become the "guru"."

VERY good question.

I can offer chabagg1 a cynical answer, but it seems to me that the most effective way to become an internet 'guru' is to call yourself a 'guru'.

I have no idea exactly how many people are on the www or how many of them are trying to earn money on there. I suspect the numbers are billions and millions respectively and growing daily. How many of them don't know you're not a 'guru'? Probably millions again.

Yes of course you can form a group for newbies to exchange ideas, but I bet in a couple of weeks it will have been swamped by so called 'gurus' bombarding it with adverts that promise to make you millions overnight if you just join their program. And once you've paid where are they?
What they don't tell you, most of them, is how to promote at no cost. Why? Because they'd make no money out of you.

What will they give you for free? A special e-book telling you where to advertise, and they even put the links in for you. How kind. But of course the real newbie won't realise they own the links.

My advice, for what it's worth, don't spend a dime until you are a genuine 'guru' because only then will you know how to spend wisely.
Call me cynical...okay..you do that.
