Beware: Taking Valium And Alcohol Is A No-No!

Your brother Ben has had enough of this crazy family! Mom just had to mention his failed Internet dot com business again! If he hears one more word about it….He says he needs to relax, so he grabs a beer and asks his wife for a Valium.

Is This A Bad Idea?
Ben combining both of those is a bad idea because drinking alcohol and taking Valium both slow down activity in your body. The alcohol, once it is in your body, starts working from the top to the bottom.

First, it starts effecting the brain like in judgment and your ability to think rationally. Then it starts effecting the emotional system in your body. It also effects your balance and coordination. Finally it could go all the way to what is keeping you alive and you could die. So alcohol can produce a lot of effects on it own.

The Valium medicine is used for anxiety and usually not lethal but, taken with alcohol, it will slow down activity in your body about twice as much. Valium effects are increased when you mix the medication with alcohol. It can even effect you to the point that you can receive black outs or even amnesia as a result.

Even mixing these two drugs can cause a coma or even death.

Since alcohol and Valium are both slowing down activity in your body they are both connecting to the same inhibitor that slows down activity in your body. This inhibitor is a nerve cell that play an import role in your brain because it keeps it in balance by inhibiting other nerves.

So if both of them are acting on it at the same time it will double the effects and it could result in your death or if it doesn’t kill you it will have long lasting effects on your body.
