Business In a Recession
If your business experiences a slump that is not seasonally typical, for a period of more than two months, you may be experiencing effects from an economic recession. To survive, there are three principal tactics: 1. Be prepared ahead of time. This means that your website and marketing should be optimized and functioning effectively. A stable or growing business does better in facing economic challenges. It also means you should have an idea of how your market might change if a recession does hit, and some idea of how you will respond. 2. Assess accurately for changes. No point panicking unless it is real, but at the same time, if you leave it too late, you'll go under. Quick, effective response has better results than later desperate actions. 3. Develop and implement a response plan. Make changes that allow your business to change product or service offerings to meet the change in the economy, or to shift your target market where it will continue to be effective. Usually, the needed changes are actually fairly small and subtle. If we are entering a recession, many businesses will go under. Smart planning, and prompt and intelligent action can help your business to be one of the survivors. |
