Click Fraud!
A couple days ago I read a somewhat funny article on a forum which was basically the nagging and complaining of someone who had gotten banned from Google for clicking his/her own ads to make more money from them. This person should consider themselves lucky that no one pressed charges or anything because Click Fraud is against the law and punishable by law! If you think that you can beat the system… then you are wrong! Google and other ad publishing companies use algorithms and manually check for the validity of the clicks on all or most ads! They use such techniques as IP tracing, Geographical tracing and other systems that can detect when invalid clicking occurs. Some of you still probably think that you are smarter than Google and that they will not find out that you are cheating, but before you know it.. you are going to be crying your eyes out because Google or another ad company banned you without warning. Most companies take this kind of offense very seriously and have a zero-tolerance policy against it, so if you want to take your risks and get caught… go ahead, but you will just regret it in the long run! There are a couple cases where people are serving jail sentences because of mass click fraud and many fines have been issued as well. Click Fraud isn’t just something that you can do to try and boost your ad revenue… it can also be used to waste competitor’s ad budget so that you can get an advantage. Many sleazy marketers have started to use these disgusting tactics and that is why you should find some way to protect yourself and also try not to make any enemies! If you notice anything suspicious within your ad stats then you should immediately report it to your ad server so that they don’t get the wrong idea… and prevent the termination of your program. This has just been a brief warning from me to everyone, because I know that every online marketer has; at one point in their time, thought about the advantages that this could have, but it is clearly impossible… so don’t do it! Ever!
