Duplicate Content Checker Of recent PLR (Private Label Articles) have been growing in popularity. Although people may try to sell you an article package of 1000 or more articles, it may be of little value for use on your blog.
These are better suited for eBooks. Here is why. Google has an algorithm that checks for duplicate content. If you have duplicate content you will get penalized for it. This will cause your site to rank lower than a similar site with original content.
One way that you can check for this is a wonderful site called Copy Scape. Their website is http://www.copyscape.com. Visit their website and you can type in any URL (Web Address) and it will check the internet for duplicate instances of your article.
This works very well. There are some instances where it only gets matches for a single word or something like that. These I would not worry about. If it comes up with a whole entire paragraph matched, then I would not use that article for a blog post. Instead you may fare better using it in a downloadable eBook.
So if you plan on using articles in your blog or anything like that, then I would check copyscape first. An additional feature is that you could use this to protect your blog content from being ripped off, by implementing their button on your site.
I don't think it does anything serious, but it just has the same effect as those old "neighborhood watch" stickers they used to put on your front door. It deters theft, but it will not prevent it. Some protection is still better than nothing.
So check it out. It could be worth your while if you use a lot of articles.
