Eco-friendly Landscaping Ideas

How can we enjoy beautiful landscapes while being conscious of water usage? How do we prevent more dangerous chemicals from being introduced into our environment?

The answer is xeriscaping. Xeriscaping is the use of local native plants in the landscape. Plants that are native to your area are already suited to survival without artificial means.

By utilizing native grasses and ground covers, their is no need for lawn grasses that require large amounts of water, fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides. Imagine...no more grass to cut!

What many people consider to be weeds are actually native wildflowers that are drought-tolerant and pest resistant. They thrive in poor soils and full sun. They are a natural food source for butterflies, honeybees, and other pollinating insect species.

With information and a little planning, your yard can become a beautiful oasis. One that is self-maintaining and environmentally friendly.
