Trading Ethically. Ethics Trading is named for the core principles upon which the business was founded. As a business owner as well as a consumer I try to make sure my life, my purchases and my business make as little negative impact on the earth as possible, and no people are exploited in the production of any item I stock. On my website I state very clearly that:
Ethics Trading is committed to trading transparently. Ethics Trading is committed to dealing with business partners who cause no harm to the earth, it's ecosystem or it's varied peoples and cultures. It's not necessary to abuse the earth or it's peoples to consume everything, to have the latest stuff. Just because we in the third world have the financial power and privilege to command the market doesn't mean we have to inflict cruelty on the people, often children, that produce the items we wish to own. We can choose to treat other human beings fairly. It's not necessary to spray the cotton fields in India with massive amounts of toxic pesticides just as it is not necessary to pump our intensively farmed animals full of hormones and antibiotics. With care and respect the earth can support everyone. |
