The Nintendo Wii is an awesome way to spend time with your children We have had the wii for about 5 months and we still play with it daily. Now mind you this is not a glued to the TV screen in a daze type of activity. There is real interaction, and some very real learning my kids are getting in all aspects of sports, teamwork, strategies and so on.
We have spent endless hours on tennis, golf, football, bowling, boxing and more. They have come around to completely understand the sports, which has given them an appreciation for sports, the rules, the competitiveness and the team work. We have had an absolute blast with the Nintendo wii. Sure we have guitar hero and have had loads of fun with it, but the real enjoyment/education has been with the interactive sports.
Countless hours of fun are spent playing golf, swinging just as you would swing for real, putting just like you would for real. Swing too hard, trouble, putt too hard, trouble again. Putt too soft...still your turn. Now in football, hike, pass and catch just as you would in the back yard, but a bit more skill is required. Now in boxing, prepare yourself for a workout, as you will build up a sweat...good cardio work out, yes! a good cardio work out from a computer game.
Hard to believe, but even I endorse the Nintendo wii. Good times to be had by all who get involved, good work out, great education tool for the kids.
This has given our family hours of priceless fun together, no matter what time of day or evening it is, and regardless of the weather outside.
Hey, afterall, if you can't beat them, join them (the kids and the video games)and have some real fun.
