How do you define happiness?
Is it able to be objectively described or is it purely subjective?
I believe the solution to understanding happiness comes from personal definition. No one else can define the things that you like to do or the people you love, for you.
To be happy you must pursue those things which knowingly bring you joy and do so successfully. The overwhelming majority of people find that the fulfillment of ambitions is a large source of happiness along with any medial successes that they might obtain along the way.
Family and relationships are probably the biggest source of joy for most. Our addiction to the positive reaction that love creates (chemical endorphins released in the brain) can make us hold on to relationships that make us unhappy, but why?
Addiction! - We become addicted to the joyous release of endorphins and even though we may not get love from somebody , the mere memory of those powerful mind controlling chemicals that we ourselves release in the brain, can make us do almost anything with the hope they will return.
Strong relationships are a fantastic solution to build happiness and joy. Even good friendships are great.
Some people find a trip out shopping to be satisfying or maybe a movie.
My belief is that happiness is a mixture of Love, Successfully reached ambitions and positive entertainment.
I think that these three characteristics help to make up one's overall sense of joy and happiness.
However, happiness is personal and if something else is a primary trigger for your personal happiness then that solution is apt for you.
