High Street Travel Agents the days are numbered

With the massive increase in online shopping one has to wonder if the traditional highstreet travel agents will eventually decline in numbers or fade away completely over time.

Nowadays you can plan your own holiday itinerary from the comfort of your own home. Everything the traditional high street travel agent could do for you, from searching for flights, car hire, hotel bookings and holiday packages can be done from one web site by anyone who is reasonably competant on the Internet today.

With up to date modern technology todays travel websites come equipped with comprehensive destination guides and fast search booking engines linked to many travel retailers world-wide so searching out and costing a trip is an easy thing to do and Internet rates are invariably cheaper than high street retailers as there are no overheads to pay.

A considerable number of people are still concerned about security online as
there is so much fraud going on out there.

The cardinal rules for online safety are have a good firewall, anti virus and anti spyware program and most importantly check that they are kept up to date as there are always new threats emerging.

If you are buying online then check that the site you are buying from has a security certificate and that it is up to date and you should also have a little padlock displayed next to your browser window to show that you are on a secure site.

If you follow these rules then you should be okay.
