I have only been with this site a little while and am enthusiastic about its possibilities. The intels are a wonderful opportunities for people to share their knowledge and information with fellow members of Qassia and with the users of the World Wide Web at large. It is also terrific that we, the members, can participate in screening our colleagues intels and award them our own points for merit.
BUT (there always is a but, isn't there? LOL) There are varying qualities of intel at Qassia, from the good to bad and, from the general to the highly technical.
Which b rings me to the point of THIS intel. I have heard from colleagues and seen very low ratings given to some excellent, but highly techncal or specialist intel. One, in particlar was written by a recognized and published authority in his field - and barely reached a C.!!!! ??????
So my question is, are we using the right criteria when we rate other peoples' work? If we dont undertand the intel, or it covers a subject that doesn't really interest us, or one that is way over our heads, wouldn't it be better to pass on the screening?
At present we are not held accountable for our screening rating of intel, unless they are exceptionally negative. I would like to see some accountablity for the ratings given in the future.
But for the present we should all remember that we earn points for screening other's work - SO we must be mindful of our capacity to pass judgement before we award low ratings.
As my Grandma used to say - "if you have nothing good to say - say nothing"
Remember - it could happen to you!!

Contributor's Note
I felt that this needed to be said. As we are not all aware of the power of the screenings and ratings on our fellow members work and hopes.
