How to Create a Clarity of Offering
When speaking to contacts or meeting prospective customers, develop a clarity of offering. This is a clear, concise statement which outlines what you do, the products you offer, the services you provide, the problems you solve, and your focus or market. 1. Your clarity of offering must reflect core purpose and direction of your company 2. It must embody basic values of you as the owner 3. It must be short and focused 4. Not be overly elaborate 5. Stress uniqueness 6. Arouse interest 7. Create intrigue 8. Perception of need A clarity of offering is a statement used in person, used in the beginning of a sales script, used as an executive summary, used while networking, and while speaking to potential customers, competitors, suppliers, and bankers. The statement should include who you are, your area of expertise, your company specialty or focus, and reason for contact.
