If like me you have been conditioned to clear your dinner plate (no matter what the size!) and feel like you need to lose a few pounds, here's my top tip: Don't just reduce the size of your portions. Get into the habit of ALWAYS leaving food on your plate (and not just the vegetables either! ;-0).
Make a point of it. NEVER eat everything.
By doing this you quickly break away negative habits and form a new way of eating. A way that means you are always in control.
It gives you the power to say 'No'. Whereas before you could only say 'Aw, go on then!'.
Temptation becomes something that you are easily able to transcend.
This alone is a significant factor in me finding equilibrium at my ideal weight.
You can never change negative eating habits or lose weight by looking to the outside world. You can only find the solution within.
Control your habits from within, and you control your life.
