How To Shed A Few Pounds

There are all kinds of diets that can help loose weight. The question is are they healthy? Can it go wrong? There are three weight loss programs that can work for anyone.

Weight Watchers

This is based on food points and meetings with a Counsellor. The Counsellor can help by weighing the person and giving advice. On this program there is a wide variety of foods that can be eaten from the list that is given. Sticking to the amount of points and going over them will help shed pounds. A magazine titled Weight Watchers can be bought and joining one the clubs for this is a bonus.

The South Beach Diet

With this program a low carbohydrate of foods are eaten for two weeks, which consists of fish, low fat cheese, eggs, skinless chicken, green vegetables and salad. Fruit, tea or coffee with milk, fatty foods and sugary foods are not allowed. After two weeks more food is added, such as, fruit. This is mainly based on good carbohydrates. Not an easy diet to do, but it is a way of getting rid of weight quickly. There are plenty of books out in the shops for this one to help anyone along.

The Cambridge Diet

This is a good one. Within two weeks you will see the difference. Most people join this one, because they need to loose three or four stone.

Three meals a day for the first two weeks using Cambridge's own food is the first step. This is combined with milk shakes, soups and biscuit bars later in the diet. The first two weeks consists of - 1 shake in the morning, for lunch a soup or shake and dinner a soup. These meals have all the vitamins and food that a person needs, so the diet is completely safe to do. The foods given are supposed to stop hunger once having been on it for at least a week. This way of dieting has been around for many years and it is approved by Doctors, but still, as with any weight loss program, a visit to a one’s Doctor to ask if it is suitable to participate.

This diet has been praised by lots of women who swears by it. The only side effects are headaches and tiredness, but this only happens on the second and third day. This means that the diet is working, as all the toxins in the body are flushing out of the person’s system. The Counsellor advises everyone to drink 3 litres of water a day (10 glasses), as is with all other diets and this will help stop hunger. If it is unbearable, then preparing the body a few days before, by eating some salad and/or vegetables, skinless chicken or both for an evening meal. Do this for two days. Then, gradually, cut down by just having a salad on the third day. Do not put salad dressing or oil on food, only vinegar is allowed and no salt. Do not have any alcohol, whilst on this either, because it will create water retention and no weight will be lost. After the fourth day, it will be fine to eat the meals without solid food. Doing this prepares the person for the two weeks of soul source eating.

Also, black coffee or tea with no milk or sugar only sweetener tablets are allowed.

After two weeks you will add small amounts of food, such as salad, vegetables, chicken or white fish.

With this diet you see a Counsellor who weighs and measures you every week. They will always advise and help everyone to carry on with it. Plus, food can be bought from them. A Counsellor can be found by doing a search on the internet. They exist in England, United States and most parts of Europe.
