How To: Spring Wreath

Here is a pretty simple craft that you can make out of recycled clothes hanger, remnant fabric and ribbons. The only supplies you will probably need to buy would be tulle and artificial flowers to match your theme. Because Spring is in the air, I made this with a "Spring" theme.

Materials:
- Artificial Flowers
- Buttons or Beads
- Clothes Hanger with the rubber coating. The bigger the hanger, the bigger your wreath.
- Ribbons
- Scrap Fabric*
- Tulle*

*Cut your fabric and tulle into strips - about 1" x 2.5". It doesn't need to be precise - some can be thinner, longer, shorter...

Instructions: Please see accompanying photos --

1. Shape your hanger into a circular shape and bend the hook to make a loop. Use a washcloth as a buffer if your hands start to hurt.

2. Tie tulle around hanger.

3. Tie strips of fabric around hanger.

4. Pop out center of flower. Thread a bead or button with ribbon then thread the ribbon through the flower (where you popped out the center) and through the hard plastic part found under the flower. The plastic helps to keep the shape of the flower. (Hint: I like using stiff ribbons so I can thread the parts without using a needle. Sometimes I cut the ribbon tip into a point so it is easier to poke into the button holes.)

5. Tie flowers onto hanger. Tie bigger ones first and fill in with little one.

6. Fill in any spaces with more tulle, ribbons or flowers.

7. Taadaa...you're done!

Make one for every season or holiday.
