I'm listed on Amazon.com
Listed on Amazon.com Finally, I'm listed on Amazon. My debut novel, The Portal Between is listed on Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk will follow in a few days. This book has taken almost 3 years to get here. It was started as the result of a dare in October 2005 and after finishing and editing it with the help of friends I started touting the manuscript round conventional publishers. A year later I gave up and self published the book through Lulu.com and began the process to get it an ISBN number and get it into book shops and libraries back in Feb this year (2008) After some delays and a few problems it finally arrived on Amazon.com this week, and I am so pleased to see it there. It's not been easy, it's cost me £80 and a huge amount of time and effort, but it's worth it. There are many steps to take along this route and it's been a steep learning curve for me to get a cover designed, edit and polish the book to marketable standard and then format it to retail requirements as well as considering pricing and royalties, which are very different once a book is in the high street shops! Then clicking that all important, but very scary, Approve this book for distribution, button. I did that on Feb 8th and 9 weeks later (should have been 6-8 but at least it's there now) I'm on Amazon and the feeling is Amazing! Now to start marketing and selling it! |
