Job and You!

In todays work force world, many people know that they have to work, no matter what, to get an income! But on the other side of the coin, over 60% of employed people don't even like there job! And with no such thing as a lifetime job security, maybe that adds more dislike, which it most certainly does!

No one wants to be working for a Company for 15 to 20 years, knowing all along, that the risk of losing the job is always on there minds! From company down sizing, to the dirty lay off's of the permanent high paying jobs! But other problems also cause job loss, like drug addictions, alcoholism,health problems etc.,and too much missed work and many more! But the biggest hidden risk of job loss, is Attitude towards the job and company itself!

Even though the job isn't liked by many workers, attitude towards the job during working hours, will only let the employer know, who's to be on the list of employees to be let go, during down sizing or during slow times for the lay off's! Even if a job is very well not liked, in slow times, attitude towards the job, must be hidden at all costs, so not to get caught into a down size, or lay off!

The old saying of being a (butt kisser) at place of employment, still today! Does still work, to keep far away from losing a job! But doing it in a more hidden way, had very high effects of actually working! Always keeping yourself open for over time hours, can get you places into the company and securing your job with better results! Doing a attitude adjustment can make or break your employment at a job, even if you don't like the job or your boss! Figuring out what works and what don't, isn't really hard to do, but showing off, will hurt all the efforts!

Figuring out just how far you will go to keep and secure your job, can only be done by you! But if it's well know by your boss and other workers, that you don't like your job! Well then it will have to be a slower process, to get you to a more secure employment! Never let other workers know what you are actually up to, when being a so called butt kisser to the boss! Try at best, to keep it hidden, from other workers, because others may catch on, and beat you to te spots needs to keep there job secure from down sizing or lay off's!

Finding out your boss's likes and dislikes, will be great tools to get yourself set up as an asset into the company!But don't over do it, become the boss's pet sort of speaking can back fire! Set limits on how far you will stretch yourself, to become a company asset! Never go over board, nor let your boss know what your up to! Being overly nice can ruin everything you try to strive for!And you will just open yourself up to employee abuse! other words, your boss will use it all against you in over working you, and put you pretty high on the lists of down sizing and lay off's!

Finding out what makes your boss, so called tick! Will greatly get you where you want to be as a company asset! Even getting in a little chummy with your boss's boss, will get you very far to setting yourself up as a company asset, if done discretly! But be far warned, don't be a butt kisser to your boss's boss, most people fail, because the boss is already the butt kisser, and there is no room for more, because your boss will make sure of that! Plus never kiss up to your boss's boss in front of your boss or other workers, very disliked by all boss's! And you could lose your job a lot faster and not expected! Out of the blue sort of speak, and no real good reason either!

So even though, you don't like your job! But need it for an income, it's time to change course on your attitude of your job and maybe even the attitude, you have for your boss! With the economy in such a bad shape and skyrocketing gas and groceries prices, a job lose wouldn't be a good thing right now! It's time to change directions on job attitude to secure yourself from a job loss! If you have never wanted to work over time at your job, the time to do so is now! But don't get greedy about it and aggressive! Remember, your actions must be kept hidden from all other employees!

Or they'll catch on, and maybe ruin things for you in your new plans of getting job security! Being an asset at your employment is always a good thing, but bad attitudes towards job or boss, have to be made a thing of the past! Try looking for the edge, of maybe getting a better or more important job at the company you already work for, if the job you are doing now, is the job attitude problems you may have of your job! Getting into the groove of bettering your job title is always a good thing too! And most likely better and faster chances of making yourself an asset and securing your job in the company, from lay off's and down sizings!

Knowing what you can do for the company is a good thing, but you must also keep in mind, what can the company do for you too, for your future of employment! Most people that take on bad attitudes towards there place of employment, seem to not try to change the problems to better themselves, which in the long run, just makes unhappy working environments! Almost all bad talk about the working place or boss, sooner or later gets to the boss! Which then the boss hunts for the bad attitude workers and uses the list as his tools for deciding who goes on what lists of lay off's or company down sizing!

In todays job work force, being an asset and a great attitude towards the job and company, can and will secure your job with more weight, then just being a worker! Always do your job, with the best quality you can, never just do your job, to get through the day! Find ways to better the job for better production and quality! Guaranteed a great beginning towards the road to being a company asset!

Always remember, no matter what job it is, newer better and quality ways of getting the job done, is always welcomed in any company! Period! You can only be an important part of a company, if you put in the efforts needed to get you there! I was a die castor, for a very popular die casting company for over 16 years! And when I started the job as a saw boy (bottom job), I was a nobody in the company, and pronbably would have always been, if I hadn't taken the road, to being an asset to the company!

Sure I will admit, I took on the role of a kiss butt to the boss to get me further into the company (even to my boss's boss, the owner of the company, and it worked! I went straight from saw boy, to die casting in very little time, but I still wasn't an asset to the company! I knew I needed to do a lot more to get there in the family owned business, which to me was 100% harder in a family owned business! And I was an outsider (not family)! Easily to be replaced at any given day! I did many things, most would never think of doing ( maybe because there pride got in there way), like inviting my boss over for a cook out at my home, every once in a while!

Even inviting my boss and his wife to my first wedding! (Not many would do that, if they didn't like there job) But I did! Some would say, I used my boss to get where I did in the company, but I can honestly say! (I did not! I was trying to be a good source for him to be confident in what ever I did at the company, and yet some what of a friend too! Which in the long run, made my job for me more independent, no more boss looking over my shoulder! I finally made myself at my job, my own boss! I made all the best choices of how to do my job, at the best I felt, quality and top productive! ( did I stick my neck out to far?) Not at all! The stakes where much high in rewards!

Which in turn, I set the standards way up higher when doing my job, way higher expectations of myself and job expectations, which in return, gave me all the assets needed to be the best high quality asset to the company! I became such a powerful asset, that when product die's were being made for my machine, the tool and die workers (Machinest), always came to me for final approval of the product die's, before they were actually put into running and making the new products!( Am I bragging?), (not at all) but was proud of what I have done, to make myself a powerful asset to the company! Many have told me I was even nuts for even trying, because it was a family owned business, and that an outsider would never be an asset to them! Well I proved them all wrong! And was a powerful asset to the day I left the job, because of Doctors order, because of health problems.

When a company calls you 2 - 3 times a week, for over 6 months trying to get you to come back to work for there company, no doubt is the greatest feeling you could ever feel! That is what a powerful asset to a company is! Anyone today can still do that same thing, if they put there mind to it and want it bad enough to be a powerful asset to any company! That is pure job security!
