Lead With Your Heart
AIDS/HIV Rate in African Americans Rivals African Countries If African Americans in the United States constituted their own country, that nation would rank sixteenth in the world for the number of people living with HIV/AIDS. This alarming statistic was just one of the highlights of President Clinton's speech at the 2008 AIDS Conference in Mexico City last week. When the Clinton Foundation started their work six years ago, they focused on lowering the cost of HIV drugs and tests. They supported governments in developing and implementing plans and policies to dramatically increase diagnosis and treatment. And as a result, 1.4 million people with AIDS are now using medicines purchased under the Clinton Foundation's HIV/AIDS agreements. This is what it means to lead with your heart. To do what you can, where you can for people in need, both at home and abroad. Won't you pledge to do the same and help make the next generation the first free of AIDS? Please support the work of President Clinton and the Clinton Foundation to end the AIDS pandemic. Support here.

Contributor's Note
Comments: Remind young people that it can happen to them without protection, and encourage them to consider abstinence. Showing the world cares is huge for re-fueling the people fighting this major battle. This is urgent. Bill and Melinda Gates have also tried to help. Children shouldn't have to die due to ignorance and fear as it is in Africa. Education and medical care is all that can help and that requires money and prayers that it will come from some place.
