Looking at the Developing Downtown Tampa

One of the places that you should include in your list if you are considering relocating to Florida is Downtown Tampa. It is the commercial center of the West Coast of Florida. Its seaport is the one of the country’s largest and busiest seaports. The area is also one of the country’s centers of banking.

The View of Downtown Tampa

Tampa boasts of many tourist attractions that drives visitor to the state in droves. A drive into Downtown Tampa would take you along the renowned Bayshore Boulevard, the world’s longest continuous sidewalk. You’d see joggers, bikers and skaters along the way. You’d also people out to soak up the sunshine and the bay view. Downtown Tampa is beginning to recreate itself and evolve into a metropolitan area.

This area of Tampa is the central business district of the city. In fact, this is the chief financial district of the whole bay area. It has a large employment rate, next to Westshore. Big companies like the Bank of America, Verizon and Suntrust have clearly established their presence in this sunny area of Florida.

The Development of Downtown Tampa

Concerted efforts have been introduced in order to introduce Tampa’s Downtown to rest of the country. There is a recreation of its image and identity, directed towards a more vibrant and active Downtown Tampa. These efforts are certainly paying off. More and more people are relocating to Tampa’s downtown; and this trend has been considerably growing for the last couple of years.

This Tampa’s downtown area is undergoing massive transformation. There are condos, hotels and other establishments being constructed to prepare for the Super Bowl in 2009. To compensate for the pricey land values in this area, multiple towers are being constructed all over the city. People are not only relocating to Downtown Tampa for work but also for residence. Old buildings are being reconstructed and rehabilitated to give way to new lofts and apartments. There are numerous condominium projects all over the area. Some recent completions have been Skypoint, Grand Central at Kennedy, Ventana and Towers of Channelside.

Detailing Downtown Tampa

Downtown Tampa is bounded on the west by the Hillsborough River, to the east by the Channelside, the north by the Interstate 275 and the south by the Harbour Island. The area is considerably small. However, it is fairly significant as a center of Tampa’s arts and culture. You’d find the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center in Downtown Tampa. If you love ballet or other form of cultural arts, you’d certainly love to have the Center a few blocks away from you.

You’d also find numerous museums in Downtown Tampa. Some of which includes Tampa Museum of Art and Henry B. Plant Museum. You’d also find the Tampa Theater and Jobsite Theater in Tampa’s downtown. No wonder, it is the city’s center of art. In fact, the University of Tampa, which is located in Downtown Tampa is also hailed for as part of Tampa’s culture.

Relocating to Downtown Tampa is always a good option. If you are moving to Florida for work, you can just opt for a loft or a condominium unit in Downtown Tampa. This is extremely convenient. You’d also save a lot of money by living right in the middle of the central district.
