Affiliate marketing is not just about writing a great sales copy and then driving tons of traffic to it. Doing this could result in some income but with a lot of sweat and man hours. There is an easier way to get the maximum benefit from your marketing effort. You need to identify your target audience and then market to your target audience specifically.
You could write a great sales pitch for the product you are promoting but if your audience is not targetted, it's all just wasted effort
As a kid, I read a lot of comic books. One story from these comics highlights this point.
There was a farmer who for some bizzare reason wanted to be poor, but unfortunately for him, he had the midas touch. Any thing he did brought him loads of money
In his misery, as being rich is such a terrible thing [lol], he had an idea
He got two airplanes and loaded one with fur coats and the other with ice-cream.
He gave the pilot of the fur coat plane written instructions to fly the furs to the sahara and sell them there.
To the pilot of the ice-cream plane he gave written instructions to fly the cargo to the north pole and sell the ice-cream there
The pilots both opened their written instructions and were puzzled.
They realized they would be marketing to the wrong audience. The pilots therefore swapped their written instructions, flew their aircraft to the new destinations and made the 'poor' miserable farmer yet more money.
The point of the story?
A good product needs the right market to make you any money
