Marketing creates Sales and Branding Makes The Difference. Marketing is Selling - getting your product or service in the hands of
consumers. You make a profit, they get whatever it is they have been
searching for.
What marketing is NOT:
• A great looking website.
• Better SEO.
• Better website content.
• A great sales letter.
• A direct mail plan.
• An expensive marketing firm.
...and more.
Your Marketing Tool Basket.
The above are tools you need/have or tools you are looking to upgrade
but each of these is not marketing. Having them all correctly done and in
your business basket is great. You do need them but as stand alone
entities, they are NOT marketing. Each one is a piece of the marketing
puzzle. Go get them but don't allow any one of them to stand alone. Each,
on it's own, will not be able to carry the load for the tools you have not acquired.
Price also does not drive sales, value drives sales.
Don't sell yourself short; don't sell your products or services at a cut rate
until you can afford to do so. And even then, don't cut your pricing structure
short just to get ahead of the nearest competition. Your services or your
products will be purchased because of their value, not because of the price.
Branding and why it matters more.
You sell a service or product that can be had all over the planet. OK, so
how do you outlive and outdo the competition? This is where branding
comes into the equation. Essentially, you are selling yourself and that comes
with branding. A company logo that will bring you to mind and what you have to
offer is the key to this lock. Make people see you when they see your logo.
Get A Brand-able Logo.
Most likely that little sentence says it all. A logo goes on your website, blog,
letterhead, business cards and any free doodads you want to hand out for
advertising. Make sure it is associated with you and your company only.
Be original, be bold and brand yourself. The people who already know you
and your business should be able to see your brand (logo) and relate it back
to your company and you. Are you honest, have integrity, a likeable personality?
Brand those qualities. This will ad real value to your business overall.
