My death de-Flying experience

I thought the biggest Thrill ride of my life, up untill now that is, was being shot 150 ft up, on top of an already 1100ft high stratosphere Las Vegas Tower, and lived to tell the tale!!
Many years have gone by since then, and age unfortunatly has been creeping up on me, slowing down a bit, slippers and armchair, you know the sort of thing. What I didn't expect, for my 42nd birthday, was a lovely little invitation, to 'come down to our dear little airfield, and have a small ride in an aircraft'!!!
You know don't you, you know what I am going to tell you, YES, YES, YES, I am TERRIFIED of flying, actually anything above 3 ft and my knees begin wobbling uncontrolably!
Anyway, after having several palputational panic attacks for the next 3 weeks, I resigned myself to the fact that life is to short, and now I was going to tempt fate, to do just that, cut it short!
Well the day had come, the time was here and now and on approach to the airfield, (having visions of 'Those magnificant men in their fly machines clanking around in my head',) I suddenly stopped and saw what I was going up in.
My palputations had now become full blown, heart thumping, dying aspirations and pleading and bargaining with my friends, "for the love of God, please let me stay here, you can take my place, please, please, please," Sadly, all to no avail!
Yes there are days when I like my friends, today was not one of them! So I braved it, I ploughed on through my pain, like a man in torment, courage pouring out his hearty chest and..... yes i was bricking it, nontheless I did carry on. After a briefing and other bits and bobs, (you know sign your death warrent as such), you meet your pilot and you get to go up in the air, IN A TIGER MOTH!!!,
"AND OH MY GOD, HOW COOOOOOL IS THISSSSS, THIS IS AMAZING, I MUST BE THE FIRST PERSON IN THE WORLD TO FEEL LIKE THIS, YEEEEEEEE HAAAAAAAAAAA!", suffice to say, it was, and will be, the best thrill ride I have ever been on, (barring a new shuttle ride to the new space station of course), and you get to take hold of the controls, I mean, ME! Scaredy cat of flying!
