So what's our great plan you might be asking? Here it is, this being our first year with a backyard garden. It's been a dream since I was a kid and the same with my wife and now we are at the planning stages.
Step one was to measure our property because this isn't going to be just a one year project, it will be on going based on our health and energy levels. But it's ours and I am in no rush, take a deep breath.
Turns out our property here in town is square because we purchase two lots so we could have this garden.
This project is both a flower, shrub, vegetables and fruit so we have our work cut out for us.
We are also going to try and take pictures. I have to focus on that because I have never been on to take pictures.
Back the first step. We measure so we can put it on grid paper.
I also measured the buildings and driveway and put those on the grid so we have a good idea of what we have to work with, to scale.
With the grid and everything on the property outlined we can start to build the front and backyard garden.
We know we need some backyard landscaping to even out the lawn. The previous owners didn't do much in the lawn care area. They were really busy in the military and were seldom home.
I think they had to move and we were blessed with seeing the property first and were sold.
I'm tired, I keep getting off track.
So we need to see what comes up this year and document it and move anything we want to move so that it all fits into our plan or it's gone.
That's the plan so far but we are on hold until this three feet of snow goes away.
