PAYPAL SCAM (Don't fall for this guys) "I myself have learned the basics on hacking as a way to protect myself from it. I've been taught the #1 way that hackers make money.
Scamming you for your paypal accounts, and bank account IDs.
Here's how it works. You get a random email some day. It says soemoen's tried to hack your account, and it will be deleted in a week or somethign if you don;t go to such and such site and type stuff in.
Of course you go to the site, and fill out the form. Which includes your poassword and such. After filling it out, a few days later, you lose control of your account and BAM, you're screwed! =O
How it works:
The hacker uses some basic HTML and Java skills to make a fake site that LOOKS legit. Except when you fill out the form, it saves what you typed and either saves it on an online document they can look over, or sends it right to them.
How to avoid:
#1 DON'T FILL OUT THE FORM. No Bank or paypal will ever do this. They will ask you to log into your account and change your password or something, that's it.
#2 turn on your phishing filter.
and #3 USE FIREFOX. Firefox uses a much different cookie saver than internet explorer, so it is immune to 99.9% of viruses that get downloaded on your cookies.
Finally, to avoid being hacked, learn how to. It's actually pretty easy, and you'll scare yourself $#@!less when you manage to hack your own system in 30 seconds flat without batting an eye. I am now learning how to find my weak and open ports and PLUG THEM.
