Personal tax returns - Hong Kong I set up my Hong Kong eTax account last week. Tax returns in Hong Kong can be done online and the new eTax system is more secure and more functional than the previous system. I've not submitted this year's tax return yet so I'm not fully up to speed with all the new features, but you will get emailed reminders of tax return deadlines and tax payment deadlines, and you can now pay your tax online from within your eTax account. Plus the previous benefits of submitting your return online, which included pre-filled data from your previous tax return (which you can edit if necessary) and immediate estimation of your tax liability as soon as you've completed your return will still be available. The system here for submitting your tax return is the easiest and least painful way of doing it I've come across. Plus I love the feature of immediately calculating your estimated tax liability - it makes your financial planning a lot easier.
