Power outage? Easy trick to make sure frozen foods stayed cold.

Here's an old-fashioned way to check that your freezer stayed cold during a power outage or vacation.

Fill a Dixie cup or other small container half full of water and place it in your freezer.

After it's frozen, flip it upside down.

If you ever find a frozen or wet puddle under it, that means your freezer has thawed and food in it could be spoiled.
