Prop7 in California is a new bill that is actually written by 2 billionaires not even from California. If it is passed, California utilities would have to have half of their power from renewable energy sources by 2025.
I will say that again half of their power by 2025.
Wow! You mean we are going to have alternative energy in 2025!
Oh, my I hope I live that long!
That is seventeen years from now and only half of the power.
The initiative allows Big Solar to use our tax dollars to build new lines that cost 10 million per mile. To set up unclean fossil fuel plants in our deserts. It allows construction companies to recover costs whether the project is completed or not. They insist it will not cost more than 3 percent extra to the consumer.
However, there is no place where they state how much it is going to cost us or the state and the Legislative Analysts Office states that the measure includes no specific provisions to implement or enforce this declaration of 3 percent.
The initiative forces the power supplier into lengthy 20 year contracts to purchase from Big Solar. It stops any case that opposes to be heard in our courts and no one can object to the company or operations. It removes any power from local governments.
It will cost the regulatory board $3.4 million in administrative costs alone.
If approved it will enable the regulatory agency to fast track to 6mos and will not allow time that is required by law to research what it will do to our ecosystem, deserts, and ground water reserves.
In other word this bill would allow a company to come in, not be under the law in any of it's operations, not be held accountable for what it does or destroys, will spend millions of tax payers money to set up a fossil fuel plant that provides half the alternate energy to consumers at an increase in cost.
Did you get that?
We need to give our tax money to them so that they can give us non alternative energy to produce alternative energy and we only get half by 2025. Then we cannot say anything when they turn around and charge us outrageous amounts of money.
Not only that but it will put all alternative energy businesses out of business. These people have worked hard to get their business going. Some have spent years researching just to get us alternative solutions.
It would literally slam the brakes on them to do business in the State of California.
This program does not allow roof top solar.
The people who are in support of this are Californians for Solar and Clean Energy. Huh!
I don't know about you but these guys must think we are nuts!
No thanks guys, there are small business here and now that would gladly give us a full alternative energy that will not cost us anything after we have paid a small price compared to the tax dollars needed for this project.
I urge all of you to watch the initiatives in your state, watch that Big Soar, Big Money does not get away with this.
