Ptosis is a symptom of Myasthenia Gravis. It means drooping eyelid. It is often the first sign of this neuromuscular disease.
Ptosis is worsened when the disease is in a flare. It can feel very uncomfortable. If treatment for Myasthenia Gravis is successful the ptsosis will be eliminated or lessened.
Aristotle Onasis had Myasthenia Gravis and often wore dark sunglasses to hide his eyes from the public as he suffered from ptosis.
