Puppy Mills and Pet Food Thanks to Oprah the horrors of puppy mills was brought to the forefront for the world to see. If you didn't know this was going on behind the scene of pet shops, this should have been quite a shock for you. You know as Oprah was speaking I was thinking about one other celebrity who has been a spokes person for puppy mills but not really mentioned the word "puppy mill", Bob Barker. Everyday he would tell us to spay and neuter our pets, apparently his message has fell on deaf ears. The love of money will drive certain people to be Very Cold Hearted, I say love of money because these people that are running puppy mills are making Tons of cash and are not reporting it to the IRS. How ethical and moral of a person is that, every time you buy a puppy,fish,snake,mice,cat,kitten,bird,ferret and pet supplies from the pet shop you are supporting these puppy mills. Where do all these dogs end up? Your Local Animal Shelter all across the country. The lucky ones get adopted which are not very many, the rest are euthenized. Now I recently read an ad for an ebook about where all the euthenized dogs are taken afterwards and I was totally blowed away by what I read. Warning Graphic Content: After being euthenized these dogs and cats are placed into a hopper along with roadkill and whatever else has been euthenized (other domesticated animals). The pets collars,Id's and leashes if they had one are left on. Once in the hopper they are transported to a company that chops and grinds these pets and animals to a powder. Once into powder form it is integrated into Big Company Name Brand dog food. Notice that the deadly potion for euthenizing the animals was never taken out before they integrated it into the dog food. I am currently following up on the ad that I read. If it is all 100% true we are slowly but surely killing our own pets with commercial dog food. I will keep you posted on what I find out. Although this post has two subject matters it all comes back to the puppy mill. PLEASE Help Stop these Horrors that are happening everyday to these helpless animals just for a little cash, oops I'm sorry I should say alot of cash. Remember to spay and neuter your pets.
