Referral Schemes - Free Stuff? How?? You've probably come across loads of sites that claim that you can get an iPod or games console for "Free", but does this really work and how does this work? Well, yes it does work, and how it works is pretty simple really, here is a brief explanation: It is all about affiliate marketing. Freebie sites, like the Kudos Network, team up with big companies such as AOL and LOVEFiLM. Offers completed through the freebie sites will give them money, say £50. So you sign up to the site and complete the offer, this makes the freebie site £50. But once you get 10 people to do it the freebie site get £500. They generate enough money to be able to give you an Xbox 360 and at the same time make themselves a profit. The BBC even made a small documentary showing how these schemes worked.
