Representing Arrogancy Last week, a big thing happened. This big thing put another taint on the collective face of the dishonorable Indonesian representatives of people. The big thing is the arrogance showed by members of DPR (Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat or People's House of Representative) toward KPK (Komite Pemberantasan Korupsi, Corruption Annihilation Committee). KPK told several DPR members that their working offices will be searched for evidences following a capture of a legislative member who was caught red-handed when receiving money from an enterpreneur. DPR then refused to be searched, saying that their offices are immune to KPK actions and even saying threats that they will disband KPK if KPK insisted on searching. DPR members, in short, felt that they are immune from legal actions. That actions spurred negative reactions from people who branded DPR as arrogant cunts. They were told that their behaviors indicated that they really were hiding something rotten in their offices. Their arrogance showed that they didn't realize their true natures as servant of the people and not above legal aspects. This arrogance effectively sunk the house of representatives further down the spiral of bad behaviors.
