Saving A Knocked Out Tooth Sometimes the unspeakable happens... a permanent tooth is knocked out. Many years ago, that would have been the end of it. However, today we know that it is possible to save a tooth that has accidently been knocked out. If this should ever happen to you or someone you know, there are three simple things that you need to do in order to possibly save that tooth. 1. Rinse the tooth, without scrubbing, and put it back in the tooth socket, OR 2. Keep the tooth moist by wrapping it in a wet paper towel, or putting it in a glass of milk or water. DO NOT SCRUB THE TOOTH 3. Get to a dentist right away, and there is a good chance the tooth can be saved. Many happy smiles to you.
