September Goal to earn $25 from Google Adsense: Day One
Last month I was given a book on Power Thinking. It gave me the idea that we (the 2Patricias) could earn more money from our website looklovely.net if we set goals. Therefore I set the goal that we should earn $25 from Google AdSense in September. September 1 was Day One of our quest. Rather than simply visualise the $25, we both did some work to prepare for the first day. Tricia put the ads into a new format, with a colour scheme that blends with the website. From research, the little boxes around the ads are the optimum size. I don't know whether that is true, but I think they look good. I have placed some ads on an on-line bulletin board called Gumtree. This has individual pages for different cities. I wrote and posted ads for about 5 cities before realising that I was omitting to preface the web address with "http://", which meant the link would not work. So, my time was not well spent. On Day One I visited a town about 15 miles away and gave out some business cards. These were received with varying degrees of indifference. I also posted 'correct' ads on 2 Gumtree locations. Not neglecting content, I spent some time working on an article about Sports Bras and made contact with some on-line retailers. This morning, I checked the Google site, and found that our income for Day One was NIL! Still, today is another day, and we have 29 more days to achieve our goal of $25. |

Good luck! Driving traffic is usually the hardest part of this, but having a goal is a great place to start.
Thanks for the refreshing honesty. So often people claim to have intantly made thousands, or even millions online. It takes a lot to make a go of it in any business, online or off. And, it isn't costing you anything, right? So at least you aren't wasting money, lol.

I have read quite a bit of doubtful advice on how to make hundreds of dollars a day - as if it is easy! Our efforts to market the website take time, but we do enjoy it.
