Does this sound familiar? I have been overweight for too long and now I am frustrated because I keep talking about losing weight and do not actually do anything about it. When I have tried to do something about it I have always ended up as a failure.
Lets look at some of the reasons why it is unhealthy to be overweight and why you should lose weight.
I WANT TO LOSE WEIGHT BECAUSE,
It is easier to have a stroke or a heart attack. I am more prone to become a diabetic. I have high blood pressure. My cholesterol is high. I am more prone for cancer. I am more prone for arthritis. I want to sit at booths again in restaurants. I want all the clothes in my closet to fit. I want to be able to wrap a standard towel around my waist again. I want to be able to shop at "normal" clothing stores. I hate to see myself in the mirror. I am embarrassed to say my weight aloud. Sex will be better. I dread the scales during the doctors visit. Not having to ask for a seat belt extension. To ride all the rides at Disney. I hate the clothing I am forced to wear. I want to go to the beach and not be ashamed.I want to regain my self worth. To not be afraid of small cars. I am too easily winded. My clothes do not fit. I want to sleep through the night. Be comfortable in a movie theater. Not feel guilty eating a dessert in a restaurant.....I do not want to die young!!
The world keeps spinning and people continue to live and die. Ships still sail and planes still fly. Dogs still bark and cats will purr. Trees will bloom and grass will grow. You have only one shot at this thing called life. Good , bad or indifferent the time you have is yours. What you do with it is your choice. If you elect to fret about your weight and do nothing about it, then you are wasting emotion on a subject of your choosing. Why would you allow your self to be torn apart emotionally on a subject that only you have the ability to change? Your friends can not help you and your enemies will not force you. What is the hold up? You are doing something to your body and then getting upset with what you have done. You did not gain those pounds overnight or in a week or in a year or even in a few years. It took time to gain them and it will take time to lose them.
SO WHY CAN YOU NOT LOSE THE WEIGHT?
All too often you have heard that a fad diet will not work. All too often you have been part of a fad diet that was a failure. Atkins did not work for you. Slim fast did not work either. So what does it take? What do you have to do to start a diet that will allow you to be the person you desire and long to become?
The answer is within you and some people may think it is a secret. I do not think it is a secret because it needs to be shouted from the roof tops and echoed in the canyons of the mountains. This secret is that you and you alone are the creator of your destiny. You and you alone are the only one who can take the energy of thought and manifest it into reality. You are the only one who can turn your dream into reality.
What needs to be done is that you need to take your thought to a higher level. You need to manifest your thoughts into a vivid awakening experience. You need to take your dreams out of the fantasy realm and bring them into the daylight of your conscious thought process. Your mind is so much more powerful than your mouth. You need to be able to take your thoughts and manifest them into your reality. The only person qualified to do this is you. Some people may need help as on the television show the biggest loser. The winners of those shows had a trainer, but remember that that people who failed and gave up also had a trainer. The chose to fail.
What type of person are you? Are you the type of person that cries and whins or are you a doer? Only you can make the change. Only you can take control of your life. As far as weight loss is concerned, you are the commander of your destiny.
