Stephen Mendel Actor Voice Over Artist
Stephen Mendel was born in Montreal, Canada and is a dual American/Canadian citizen. After receiving a BA in Drama from Bishop’s University and studies at Concordia University he began working in theatre, film and television. He completed his MFA in 2001 at California State University, Long Beach. Perhaps best known for the role of Detective Fred Carson on the CBS/CTV TV series “Night Heat” Stephen has guest starred on such shows as: “CSI: Miami”, “Las Vegas”, “24”, “JAG”, “The Practice”, “Judging Amy”, and “The X-Files”, appeared in mini-series, TV movies and feature films. He has worked with Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks in “The Terminal” and played a lead role in Wu Tian Ming’s “CEO” (seen by over 200 million people in China) Theatre has included “After Crystal Night” (for which he received a Best Supporting Actor award) at the Odyssey and “The Foreigner”, at the Pasadena Playhouse. Stephen’s had a busy voice-over career with many commer-cials, narration and the voice of “Splinter” on “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” Off-stage he plays the guitar and sings with a group of folk musicians at charitable events and just for fun. He skies, teaches scuba diving, bicycles and practices the obscure martial art of aki-jutsu.
