Stupid is Stupid. You have an old gas hog? Yes, Stupid is Stupid. I've been working on this green earth thing now for over 50 years. Yes, Stupid is Stupid is still Stupid.
I was in California in 1970's doing a consulting job when the gas lines began to form. A reporter ask me if it was going to hurt the business I was consulting for. My, reply, "Probably, not." "Why!" "Because, people in America have no sense of value and responsibility." "They will keep on sitting in traffic for hours." "They will buy even bigger vehicles (which history proves they did)."
Now, think about it. Even then in California, I would live close enough to walk to work. It isn't that I don't like driving. I've driven round trip across the United States 6 times; five provinces of Canada; All of England and Ireland; and sixteen countries in Europe.
Now, I live in Cocoa Beach, FL. Walk to 2 grocery stores; two drug stores; Ron Jon's and Starbecks; and on the beach for up to two miles each way. Long distance we (my wife of 41 years) take a trolley or a bus to any place in Brevard county. And a shuttle to Orlando, door to door, when we visit up north. No need for a vehicle.
By the way, I did work for Greenpeace for two week, until I realized, they were not doing what they said they were doing. I quit, very quickly.
What are you doing? Are you leaving green footprints. (Ha, ha.) And stop that smoking and throwing the butts on the ground.
