Set Up A Proper Work Flow
Don't procrastinate, stick to the job at hand. It helps to write down a work schedule which you can follow on a daily basis and you should post that in front of your computer as a constant reminder. For example, it would be a Things To Do Today list. It may seem very basic, but you'll be surprised at how effective it will be, especially if discipline is sometimes a problem for you.
Create Instead Of Copying
It's much easier to just copy and paste someone else's work instead of working those brain cells to come up with some original content of your own. Coming up with original content may seem hard since almost everything has already been written - at least once!But that doesn't mean you can't write about the same subject from another angle. There are many different ways to view and write information. You can use the information from various sources and references, add more salient points and construct the article into your own unique content. This will be much more satisfying and profitable in the long run.
Avoid Over-Spending On Advertising And Outsourcing Too Quickly
Try to take your time and build "natural traffic" before jumping into Google Adwords or Yahoo's version of the same. Once you start adding excellent content and building a reader base, then step up your efforts to drive traffic to your blog.
Those tips should help bring in your visitors, which will up your cash flow in time!

What sources of income can you set up on your blog?
Here are the sources...
1. Advertising programs - There are a few top advertising programs that pay you for each time a visitor to your blog clicks on an advertisement. I have a blog right now that earns me over $1.00 per click... can you imagine if you had 100 people per day clicking on your advertisements??
2. RSS Advertising: With the much larger subscriber numbers for RSS feeds it has become more viable for advertising to appear within an RSS feed. This is getting more and more popular in the blogging community.
3. Sponsorship: When you have a decent amount of web traffic, you can get certain websites to sponsor on your blog. This is usually paid by the sponsors at a flat rate, sometimes $40 a month, sometimes over $100 a month!
4. Affiliate Programs: Affiliate programs are revenue sharing arrangements set up by businesses selling products and/or services. As a blog owner, you are rewarded for sending customers to the company.
One last way to monetize your blog, that I didn't mention above... Another answer to your question: how do I make money on my blog? SELL your blog... that's right, if you gain enough subscribers and long term traffic on your blog, you can sell it to someone and make great gains. I have recently seen a high traffic blog go for $70,000!
In order to make money with the above sources, you must have TRAFFIC... you will get some natural traffic just by adding and updating your blog, but you can get ranked higher in search engines if you do certain things... such as get LOTS of backlinks!
BACKLINKS -
To get extra links to your blog(which is very important for generating good search engine results)find a blog that is related to the product you’re promoting and post a somewhat useful comment on the blog. Don’t make a comment that is obvious that you are just spamming your link, make the comment genuine!
What you need to find are blogs that don’t have the no-follow code. No-follow code on a blog means that the links will be useless and a waste of your time.
Try checking these two websites to find blog that will allow links in the comments:

I can’t stress enough how important this is… update your ping list in Wordpress. Wordpress, by default, has one server in the Ping list updating section. This is NOT enough. Everytime you post, Wordpress will ping your update to the websites in this list… the more, the better, right?
How to do this…
1. Find a good ping url list… try google, you should be able to find a list of 50+ urls. Copy these URLs.
2. From Your Dashboard, click the “Settings” tab, Then click the “Writing” sub tab. Paste the urls into the text box where it says “Update Services.” Click Update.
You’re done… simple right??? Simple, but highly effective!

Once you have created your blog, create a Squidoo webpage and a Hubpage and add links on those pages to your blog.
The point of this - more links means better search engine rankings. Make a quality Squidoo and Hubpage and you will also generate some traffic to your blog from those pages. Of course, as we say... more traffic = more money
