Traffic Generation – A Sneaky Little Trick (Gray Hat)
Ok, I don’t want to really call this a “section” of the series … more of a quick tip that you may want to consider. Did you know that anyone can edit Wikipedia? ;-) Before you go and demolish the entire directory – use it wisely and sparingly and you can see traffic from it! Create or edit a Wikipedia post. While you can edit a post without an account, if you do edit, your IP address will be recorded publicly! If you want to hide that information, REGISTER! Only post relevant, useful information and links in the Wikipedia post. Spam, and you will be caught and banned. Treat it nice, provide solid information, and you can get some very targeted traffic to your site. Enjoy and Act Responsible!
