Traffic Generation - Blogs and Social Media There are a number of ways that you can drive traffic to your internet property. And over the next several posts, I am going to share many of them with you! One way is to create a blog and keep it updated. Create short 200-300 word snippets, one to three times each week. Then use a service like Pingoat or Pingomatic to let the blogosphere your site is updated. The nice thing about using a blog to generate traffic, is that they are loved by search engines and tend to get indexed much quicker than a typical website. Another way to generate traffic is to utilize social media outlets. These include social bookmarking, social networking, and video sharing. Social bookmarking to places like Digg, StumbleUpon, Del.icio.us, etc...will help drive almost immediate traffic to your site. While using social networks, such as MySpace, Facebook, and Twitter will help you develop a following. Finally, creating and uploading videos to sites such as YouTube, Google Video, Yahoo Video, and AOL video is almost required to keep up with the competition. Video is, without question, very hot and those that take advantage will be rewarded!
