Traffic Generation – Utilizing Pay Per Click

Here is part seven in a series about how to drive traffic to your site. In this seventh part, let’s talk about using Pay Per Click (PPC) advertising.

While this is not a free method, used properly it can help bring you some good targeted traffic, quickly. Pay per click should be one of your traffic generation techniques that you implement once you become profitable with your website. Why? Because if you do not watch what you are doing, you can spend quite a bit of money testing the waters!

If you do decide to use PPC advertising, first know that there are more choices out there than just Google Adwords, Yahoo Search Marketing, and MSN AdCenter. Yes, these three do a majority of the PPC search engine business, but you should consider some alternatives, especially in the beginning. One great source to check out is a website called Pay Per Click Search Engines. Go there and check out their top ten selection. You will find Goggle, Yahoo, and MSN…but you will also find some others that CAN be MUCH CHEAPER to test your PPC campaign.

I suggest that you first start with a small test, using these other PPC search engines. You will spend less money and it can help you create a much better PPC campaign, so that when you decide to give the Big Three a try, you are better prepared.

Good Luck!
