Using Squidoo to promote your website

Squidoo is an easy to use site building website.
It's free to sign up and there is a revenue-sharing system.
It offers a large range of modules that you use to pull content from sources like Youtube,Wikipedia,Blogs and Rss feeds to make a new website on any given subject. This site is called a Lens. Lenses are rated on quality and number of visitors and the best way to use them is to write a lens on a similar subject to the one you want to publicise. You then pepper your modules (thinly) with text links to your website. The best place to do this is in the INTRODUCTION MODULE which is where search machines look to find out what is in your lens. Keywords are called tags in Squidoo and each lens has a major tag (which you should also add to the other tags you are allowed to add -up to a maximum of 40 tags)
It really is that easy - when you have made your lens you then press the Publish button and Squidoo produces the finished lens. To PROMOTE THE LENS you should add it to GROUPS in Squidoo on the same subject and then use the tag and ping technique to advertise it through various ping services - pingomatic.com is probably the best know one which will send details of your Lens (It is treated as if it is a BLOG) to all the blog publishing services. You can also further promote that lens through blogs (especially on BLOGGER and WORDPRESS as these are quickly picked up by major search engines such as Google and Yahoo).
If you have a My Yahoo account then add your blog to that page for more exposure.
I am a Giant Squid in Squidoo which means I have made over 50 quality lenses.
Just a note - Google may add your lens on page 1 - but that may only last a few days while the Google Bots watch your traffic ! Do not expect high Google ratings unless you have an excellent useful lens.Lenses MUST have at least 5 modules to be accepted and published.
