Visiting Athens - Taxi Recommendation

If you're going to Athens and you've looked up transportation options, you've probably run across George The Famous Taxi Driver of Greece. Is this guy for real?

Yes. He's not just good at web marketing; it turns out his service is as advertised.

When I went to Greece in 2005, one of the ladies going with me booked a ride with him online. I was a little worried, but George was waiting for us in the Athens airport just on the other side of customs. He carried our bags, spoke good English, took us to our hotel, and his fare seemed reasonable. (I can't remember what it was now, since it's been a few years).

The only scary part is that he knows how to drive in Athens, so when things got completely gridlocked, he turned into an alley! Despite literally driving on the sidewalk, I felt safe. If and when I get back to Greece, I'll be calling George Kokkotos again.
